Encourage graduates to "Shoot For The Stars" with this stellar bouquet of balloons!

Ingredients: 1 45" (114cm) "Shooting Star" Microfoil Balloon (48528) 2 18" (46cm) "Graduation Blast" Microfoil Balloons (49241) 1 4" (10cm) Sapphire Blue Microfoil Star 2 16" (41cm) "Shoot for the Stars" Assorted Jewel Latex Balloons (49243) 1 321Q Ruby Red Latex Balloon 1 260Q Sapphire Blue Latex Balloon #40 "Multicolor Stripes/White Qualatex MasterBow Poly Ribbon (44385) Qualatex BalloonRibbon Tile Weight & Foam Wire Plastic Foam & Cool Glue Heat Sealer

Preparation:

1. For the base, make a "spiked" bow with the Qualatex MasterBow poly ribbon. Glue a small piece of plastic foam to the top of the tile.  Glue base of bow to the foam.
2. Curl two pieces of foam wire.
3. Air inflate the 4" Microfoil Star balloon, heat seal, and attach to one piece of curly foam wire. Insert foam wire into plastic foam.
4. To make the balloon "rocket", inflate the 260Q to 16", then tie a knot.   Make three, consecutive 2" (5cm) loop twists in a 260Q. Tie the balloon off at the base of the twists, and remove the remainder.  Inflate a 321Q to the base of the dark tip and tie it. Make a ½" (1.3cm) bubble at the knot end, and wedge the bubble into the middle of the three-loop cluster.
5. Cool glue the balloon rocket to piece of curly foam wire. Insert foam wire into plastic foam.

To make a spiked bow:

1. With the knot and the tails of the bow facing away from you (back of bow), cut the front of the bow through the loop starting about halfway down as shown - cut at an angle up and stop at the top of the curve.
2. Turn bow around (same side with the knot and tails still facing away from you) and cut the other loop the same way.
3. Fluff the bow and you have a spiked effect.

TIP: Use permanent marker to personalize the "Shooting Star" balloon with a graduate’s name or a unique sentiment!
